Anou Neumann

Anou has been passionate about circus arts since childhood. From putting on legendary living room shows such as “Zirkus Quatschmatsch” to practicing tricks on stair railings and playgrounds – or even making Barbies perform aerial acts on homemade silks – her enthusiasm was unstoppable from an early age.
At age 10, she began training with the Maccaroni Children’s and Youth Circus in Karlsruhe. While her first love was aerial silk, she soon discovered other disciplines, including aerial hoop, trapeze, contact juggling, and eventually transitioned from aerial silks to aerial rope. Whether she’s up in the air or upside down in a handstand on the floor, movement and creativity are at the heart of everything she does. In recent years, Anou has also developed a passion for partner acrobatics, which she enjoys from both perspectives – as a base and as a flyer.
She started teaching circus and aerial disciplines at the age of 15 and took every opportunity to instruct at Maccaroni. Later, during her studies, she expanded her teaching experience by working with various social circuses and aerial studios across Germany.
Realizing that she wanted to dedicate her life to the circus, Anou decided to further deepen her skills and technique by attending Scuola di Circo FLIC in Torino, Italy, where she specialized in aerial rope.
To support her own training and structure her teaching, she began creating small illustrations of circus tricks, particularly on the trapeze. This idea evolved into Circus Cards: illustrated cards featuring circus tricks – designed to support teaching, circus pedagogy, and personal training. Her project is available at www.circuscards.de and on Instagram at @circus_cards.

Workshops

Trapeze – Solo Beginner (Friday, 14.11.2025 16:30 – 18:00)

Level: Beginner

We‘ll start from the basics on the static trapeze! After an energizing warm up, i’ll teach you basic aerial technique that is suitable also for other aerial disciplines. Then we’ll apply this technique to some of my favourite beginner tricks on the trapeze! We’ll have some fun connecting them in creative and unique ways, to create a sequence that we can call our own.
There’s always room to adapt tricks to your level; if you wish I can always give you individual input to make tricks more or less challenging for you to suit you level.

You will gain:
• Knowledge about technique, body positions and injury prevention
• A good vocabulary of beginner tricks
• Tools how to adapt tricks, how to transition and how to present

Ideal for: Everyone! No matter if this is your first glance at aerial arts, if you come from other aerial disciplines or if you might consider to start teaching and want to revisit the basics on the trapeze.

Who can join? All aerialists are welcome. There are no prerequisites.

Trapeze – Solo Intermediate (Sunday, 16.11.2025 10:30 – 12:30)

Level: Intermediate

Goodbye static poses, hello dynamic transitions! In this workshop, we will have a more dynamic approach to the static trapeze.
After a general warmup and intermediate technique exercises on the ground, I’ll guide you through some fun dynamic tricks on the trapeze. We’ll learn, how to create and use momentum with our body. Every move will be broken down step by step, so you know what to do in each moment and have the tools to continue practising these tricks if desired.
