Serah Fuchs (Akro Monkey)

by | Mar 7, 2026 | Aerials Weekend Karlsruhe #5, Artists

“I am fascinated by the combination of strength, acrobatics, and agility on the aerial silks. This is my passion, which I love to share with others.”

Serah had always possessed a strong urge to move. She loved trying acrobatic things that others deemed too dangerous or risky. After many years of experience in pole acrobatics, as well as completing her training as a certified pole instructor, she discovered aerial silk in 2016. It quickly became clear to her that she had found her true great passion.

She loves training on the silk herself, learning new figures, drops, and combinations, and she joyfully passes on what she has already learned through her teaching. When she is not in the air, she enjoys balancing on her hands and working on her handstand. Aerial acrobatics and handstand training are the ideal pairing for her, resulting in an equilibrium that is just right.

She takes great joy in teaching and supporting other acrobats, helping them to progress.

Workshops

Aerial Silk – Slack Drops (Friday, 01.05.2026 16:30 – 18:30)

Level: Intermediate

A slack drop is a kind of “free” fall into a loop (slack). Slack drops can be very small drops or very large drops. The beauty of slack drops is that you can often decide for yourself how big the loop or drop will be. These drops are perfect for building or deepening your confidence in drops. These drops are usually very easy to control and you can “run down” them easily at the beginning. We will try out different variations of slack drops, and I will teach you some great and fun drops.

Who can join? All aerialists who can do an invert in the air and have some experience with drops.

Aerial Silk – You Spin me Round (Friday, 01.05.2026 19:00 – 21:00)

Level: Intermediate

Spins on the silk, they’re either loved or hated (at least most of the time). If you love spins as much as I do, then this workshop is just right for you. (If you’re not “yet” such a fan of spins, you can also work on the technique with just a little spin). For this workshop, I have prepared various shapes that are perfect for spinning. We will also work on the technique for the “fast spin” and look at it step by step, so that you can hopefully enjoy working on it.

Who can join? All aerialists who can do an invert and a hipkey in the air.

Aerial Silk – Crazy Drops (Saturday, 02.05.2026 14:00 – 16:00)

Level: Advanced

These drops just look simply “breathtaking”! Come and learn some really cool/crazy drops with me. Some of these drops may look “crazy” at first glance, but with the right technique of “understanding” the drop as well as step-by-step learning, they are achievable. These aren’t drops where you just let yourself fall; these are drops where you need to know what you’re doing and where you’re going. Often, these drops don’t necessarily work on the first try. But that makes the sense of achievement all the greater when you finally get it right.

Who can join? All aerialists who can do an invert in the air, front balance and have experience with drops.

Aerial Silk – New to Drops (Saturday, 02.05.2026 16:30 – 18:00)

Level: Beginner+

Not all that familiar with drops yet? Then this workshop is just right for you. We will look at various relatively simple drops step by step and then drop them together. In this workshop, I will also show you how to safely “run down” a drop at the beginning. This will allow you to drop with confidence and overcome your fears, so that you can get carried away by the drops and maybe even become “dropaholics” in the future.

Who can join? All aerialists who can do an invert in the air (for some drops also hipkey in the air).

Aerial Silk – Handstand (Sunday, 03.05.2026 10:30 – 12:30)

Level: Intermediate

In this workshop, we will do various handstand variations in the air and on the ground (with the silk). The handstand with the silk is practical because you always have some kind of support from the silk, allowing you to hold positions in the air or on the ground that you might not otherwise be able to hold. (You’ll see, let yourself be surprised!) There are countless handstand variations and corresponding positions with the silk. I will teach you some of them.

Who can join? All aerialists who can do an invert in the air.

Aerial Silk – Middlesplit Stretching (Sunday, 03.05.2026 16:30 – 18:00)

Level: All levels

In this workshop, I will show you some of my favourite stretches and do a typical Akro Monkey Middlesplit Stretching with you. My Stretchings involve lots of active exercises and are anything but relaxing, but they are goal-oriented. Towards the end, we will do a few exercises with the silk. I will also be happy to show you a few tips for middlesplit balance and/or one or two nice “easy splits” in the air.

Who can join? All aerialists are welcomed.
