About

About us
Even Carolus Horn knew, “Only flying is better,” which is why we’re swinging into the air! Whether on fabric or on the straps, whether solo or in pairs, whether beginner or experienced aerial artist, the main thing is to get off the ground and into the air!
Aerials Trainings since 2017
We’ve come a long way since 2017. What began as an Aerial Silk and Trapeze course in cooperation with the “Hochschulsport Akrobatik / Jonglage” at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) was always meant to be much more!
Today, the members of the Pyramidaler Kleinkunst Verein e.V. can practice Aerial Silk, Straps, Trapeze, and Lyra three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). And our Hochschulsport partner continues to offer an average of three Aerial Silk courses each week!
Aerials Weekends since 2024
While we’ve hosted aerial workshops as part of other events in the past, it wasn’t until 2024 that we held our very first aerials weekend. Twenty-six people attended the two-day first edition in March 2024. Less than six months later, the second edition welcomed fifty-two participants for a two-and-a-half-day event with three guest trainers and three aerial disciplines. What’s next? Stay tuned to find out!
Our Promises & Values
At Aerials Weekend Karlsruhe, we are committed to supporting and connecting the aerial sports and arts community in Karlsruhe and the surrounding region. Our values guide everything we do:
- Accessibility & Affordability: We believe aerial arts should be accessible to everyone, especially students. That’s why all of our organizers are volunteers, and any potential profits from the event go right back into making it sustainable for the future—ensuring that costs remain affordable for all.
- Fair Compensation for Artists: We strive to ensure that artists are fairly compensated for their work, so they can continue to live and thrive from their art. We value the contributions of all our guest trainers and aim to support them in their craft.
- Diversity & Inclusivity: We embrace diversity in all its forms. Our events celebrate different aerial disciplines and encourage participation from people of all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Aerial arts are for everyone, and we are proud to create a welcoming environment for all.
- International Connections: Our guests come from all over Europe, and we aim to invite new, diverse artists to each edition. We love having our guest artists join us—not only as instructors but also as participants and valued members of our growing community. The connections we create are at the heart of our event.
Our Team
The team of the “Aerials Weekend Karlsruhe” consists of passionate aerial enthusiasts who volunteer their time and expertise to make this event unforgettable. Driven by their love for aerial arts, they dedicate their free time to ensure a seamless and inspiring experience for everyone.

This is the vibrant location for our Aerials Weekend Karlsruhe. Originally a former bus depot, it has been transformed into a dynamic training and event space for acrobatics, tricking, dance, and more. This unique venue provides the perfect setting for our community to come together and soar to new heights!
Zirkus Maccaroni
This is a special place where creativity, movement, fun, and challenge come together. From children as young as 3 years old to young adults, everyone is welcome to join, whether they’re beginners or experienced performers. Zirkus Maccaroni fosters friendships, personal growth, and the development of unique shows. Their open sessions, such as parent-child training and Open Space for young adults, are a great way to get started. No prior registration required!
Luftakrobatikshop.de
We have had the pleasure of having Luftakrobatikshop.de as a sponsor for the second edition of Aerial Weekend Karlsruhe. They are a leading supplier of top-quality aerial arts equipment. Their support played a key role in making the event a success!
Hochschulsport am KIT
This is where our journey began in 2017. We continue to have a strong partnership with the Department of Acrobatics, Juggling, and Aerial Arts at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Their ongoing support and collaboration are integral to the success of our events and community.
